What We Believe
Our Mission Statement
At Loudoun Bible Church, our mission is Developing disciples while building community—one home at a time. Consequently, we are a growing church of growing believers sharing the responsibility of our church. Our logo is the staple of our mission at LBC and how we intend to carry out God's work through: Community, Compassion, the Bible, Creativity, and Accountability.
Our Core Values
- We value COMMUNITY and the importance of interdependence on other believers as a continuous connecting point--separate but inclusive of regular worship services. In addition, we value those within our local communities and their spiritual, physical and emotional needs.
- We value the active demonstration of COMPASSION as modeled and taught by Christ.
- We value THE BIBLE as God's written Word to mankind and will utilize His Word for communicating the precepts and principles for a fulfilled, God-honoring life.
- We value the creative minds and giftedness of God's people and welcome the use of CREATIVITY to build the body of believers as well as sharing the good news of Jesus.
- We value one on one ACCOUNTABILITY for all ministry leaders and members as a key element for promoting individual growth while minimizing personal defection.
What We Believe
- We believe the Scriptures to be the inspired Word of God, without error and infallible in the original manuscripts, and the final authority concerning faith and eternal life.
- We believe in one God, eternally being in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - these three being identical in essence.
- We believe that in Adam's sin humanity fell, inherited a sinful nature, became spiritually dead and alienated from God. Man of himself is incapable of remedying his lost and depraved condition.
- We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. This redemption He accomplished by voluntarily giving Himself as a sinless substitutionary sacrifice on the cross.
- We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine Person through whom new life is brought to those who are spiritually dead. The scriptures affirm that He is with us forever, that He seals us unto the day of redemption, that He bestows spiritual gifts upon us, and that He empowers us for service.
- We believe salvation from the penalty of sin (justification), the power of sin (sanctification), and ultimately the presence of sin (glorification) is the gift of God's grace. It cannot be gained by meritorious works, but is freely bestowed upon all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
- We believe the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two ordinances to be observed by all believers until His return; baptism and the Lord's supper. Their observance by all believers is urged.
- We believe in the personal, imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.
- We believe at death the souls of those who have trusted Christ are to be with Him forever in glory. We believe that the souls of unbelievers are to be separated from God forever in conscious punishment.
